Obama holds town hall in Grand Junction
More than 1,600 people packed Warrior Stadium at Central High School in Grand Junction to hear President Barack Obama speak and take questions from the audience about health care reform. When Obama took the stage, he said: “When you hear about these experiences, when you think of the millions of people denied coverage because of preexisting conditions, the thousands who have their policies cancelled because of illness, the countless folks like Nathan, I want you to remember one thing: there but for the grace of God go I.”
During the event as I worked on streaming video, taking still photos and trying to update the website as well, I felt a bit outnumbered as DenverPost.com had at least 3 people covering visuals. All told, they didn’t stream the event, so at least our small town paper offered something unique for the handful of readers that decided to watch on a beautifully sunny Saturday afternoon.
