This week readers of the New York Times’ Motherlode blog learned the conclusion of a anonymous young woman’s dilemma, which they had been asked to weigh in on. At 22, preparing to start graduate school at a highly prestigous university, she learned she was pregnant. She was struggling with whether to keep the baby and turned to readers, hoping that their many life experiences might provide some guidance. More than 700 people responded. Tuesday she revealed her decision. Hers is a heart-wrenching example of how there are no easy answers when it comes to the hardest of choices.
