Chris Wherry, two time defending crit champion, talks about cycling, Durango and the Iron Horse. Wherry’s father-in-law is Jim Mayer who as a brakeman on the D&RGW railroad started the Iron Horse with his brother Tom Mayer, an avid cyclist. Melissa Mayer, married to Wherry is a coach with the Durango DEVO team.
Engineer Joe Dailey turned 30 on Friday and will be operating the train for the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic Saturday.
